I hope everyone had a good time at first Den meeting.   Our next Den meeting will be this Thurs, Oct.9@ 7:30 at new Dragon Den location (directions at http://www.wolfden2.netpagebuilder.com/LocationDD.html).    We will continue on with the Readyman requirements and memorizing the Scouts oath and law. 

Don't forget that we have our Show and Sell Popcorn this Sat., Oct. 11, from 10-12 at the Springfield NFCU on Brandon Ave.   Thanks to the parents that volunteered to help out at the popcorn stand.  

I'd also like to get an idea how many Scouts would be interested in visiting Troup 1853's Fall Camporee and if so which date would be best.   More information concerning this event is at the end of this mail.

Pack 685

Up coming Boy Scout events.   

From Boy Scout Troup 1853; would like to extend an invitation to the Webelos I and Webelos II dens of Pack 685.  If the Pack's Webelos I or Webelos II dens are planning to attend the Fall Camporee on October 17-19 at Fort Washington, MD, we would be delighted to have them visit the troop's campsite.  This would satisfy the portion of requirement #4 for the Arrow of Light to visit a Boy Scout outdoor activity or requirement #12 for the Outdoorsman badge to visit a Boy Scout camp. 
 
On Saturday, November 1, we are sponsoring a Webelos activity day at Community Covenant Church.  It will be in the afternoon, following Scouting For Food bag distribution that morning.  Our scouts will be manning stations to help Webelos I and Webelos II scouts complete requirements for certain Webelos activity badges and pins.  We would love to have input from your dens on desired badges and pins that we could help your scouts complete.
 
On the evening of Tuesday, November 11, our weekly troop meeting will be our annual Webelos Night.  We have a special program that evening that showcases the troop's program for the year.  However, if the den or any of its members can't make it that night, we'd be happy to have a visit from any of your Webelos at any other troop meeting.  We meet every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm with a handful of exceptions (so it would be good to contact me in advance).  The meetings are at Community Covenant Church, 7018 Sydenstricker Road.  This is between the Fairfax County Parkway and Huntsman Blvd., diagonally across from Hunt Valley Elementary School.  Such a visit would satisfy the portion of requirement #4 for the Arrow of Light to visit a Boy Scout troop meeting.
